Hello everyone,

Well it is time to go to bed. Well past time really, but earlier than usual.  I am really really trying, honest I am, to go to bed at a decent time.

I will try to get caught up with reading your blogs and commenting tomorrow. While I am  getting  my usual Saturday cleaning done I will be back and forth to the computer. :)

Today was good for us. Right now though it is very cold out. About 20 degrees according to the weather report on my phone. My goodness..BRRRRRR  It has been up near 60 degrees the past few days. I am surprised that it has gotten so cold.

Anyway, I should go. Sorry this is so short and not too interesting.

Have a great Saturday. And a wonderful Easter Sunday to those of you who won't be back before then. :)

Take care.....

Wow Welcome! And The Surprise :)

Wow! Welcome to my new followers. Three in one day. That's so cool. :)

Remember in my last post I said I had a surprise to tell you? Ok, here it is.

I WON! I WON! I WON! LOL

Bevy at Treasured Up And Pondered had a giveaway.  She submitted   a recipe to the Gooseberry Patch Cookbook people and they published it and the story she sent with it, in  their newest book. . :) They sent her two copies of the book.  She decided to giveaway the second one. AND I WON! WOOHOO!!

Sorry, I am getting a little carried away. I just don't win things so I am really excited.  I think I only won something once. Back in junior high or high school I won a clock radio (in the 70s). I sold one candy bar more than the next person.

Below is a picture of the cookbook and a picture of the page with Bevy's recipe.

When I checked the mail and found that the book had arrived I was so excited to open it. But we were on our way to the Dr's office so I had to wait til we got there to open it.

I have looked through it. There are lots of great recipes in it. :)
Thank you Bevy.

Everyone, do pop over and check out her blog at the link above. You will love it. She always has inspiring and uplifting things to write. :)

Ok, gotta run. Dinner is calling.
Take care all...

My Day ?

Hi there,

You know what is really weird? As I am typing this, I have no cursor thing blinking at me. No little line to tell me where I am. I'm not sure what's going on. Hmm

We kinda had a boring day today, well yesterday. We got up, went to the Dr's office, went to see the buffalo and elk. Came home, ate, watched the Republican primary results, had an appt at church, came home, watched TV a little more and sat down here at the computer.

The best part of my day though, :) was reading and commenting on your blogs. I don't know if I got to comment on all of them yet, but I did read them. :)   I love visiting you all here or there on your blogs. You all have different and interesting things to say. I appreciate you all so much. And I really enjoy and appreciate your comments here.  I read every one of them.

We had nice weather today, almost 60 degrees.  A little windy but nice. Not sure how long that is going to last. It is supposed to snow maybe tomorrow or the next day.

Hubby has labs to do early in the morning so I guess I should go to bed.  I should have gone to bed hours ago. Shame on me, it is now 3:40 am.  I wish we could get our schedule turned around.   Like get up at a decent hour and go to bed at a decent hour. I am so bad.

Oh, I do want to mention that I will have a surprise to tell you on my next post. :)

Have a great Wednesday. Take care.....

Welcome, Thank You, And Spring??

Howdy everybody,

Welcome to Karen :) Thank you for stopping by and becoming a follower of my blog.
And thank you to all my other followers for being so kind and welcoming me to blogland. :) Thank you so much too, for your sweet and caring comments.

Spring?? Well, I don't know. lol  We have had some nice days lately. One day last week it was 59 degrees. The highest I've seen it since last fall.  AND all the snow is gone from our yard. And we have GREEN grass. YAYYY! But... we are supposed to get snow a few days this week. (Shrug)  That's Utah/Wyoming for you.

The weather has a mind of it's own. What happens here is, is at the end of winter the weather starts to warm up and be nice and spring-like. It does this for about a week.  Then BAM! We get a blizzard.  Then at the end of summer, after boiling to death from the heat, (lol) the weather gets cooler like fall weather. For about a week. Then BAM!  We get a 100 degree heat wave.  Oh the mind games it plays.

So we are never really sure when spring will come, or IF it will come. lol.  We just wait, and wait and....

Green grass and birdies so far. No pretty flowers like the ones below yet.

Gotta run. Have a great Tuesday everyone...

Take care...

 Awww :)

Yayyyy, I Finally Did It ! And Prayer

Hi everyone,

I hope all of you have had a great  Sunday.  My church conference weekend was great. :)

I guess you are all wondering: What did you do?   Well again, the pilot light went out on our furnace.  And guess what, I relit it all by myself. YAYYYY!!! :) It took two tries but I did it. :)

I have been thinking about prayer the past few days. And haven't been sure what I wanted to right about it. I hope this makes sense. :)

Before the first generation of mankind passed away, men began to call upon God.

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
Genisis 4:26

Prayers, whether with or without sacrifices, were constantly offered by the patriarchs. We notice in the old testament that prayer and sacrifice were connected on at least two occasions. One, repentance from sin on the Day of Atonement. And two, a prayer of thanksgiving at the time of the offering of tithes and the firstfruits of the field.

Prayer was a part of life for all the righteous of the old and new testament times. And animal sacrifice which pointed man to Christ was a part of that until the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus being the last and great sacrifice.

Now, the sacrifice that Jesus asks of us is that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Meaning a humble and repentant heart and spirit.

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 34:18

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart...
Psalms 51:17

As we learn and understand our true relationship to God, namely that He is our Father and we are his children (Hebrews 12:9; Roman 8:16), prayer becomes a natural part of our lives. Prayer is the way we learn the will of God for us. By revelation to us through the Holy Spirit, that still small voice, that feeling or thought that comes to us as we pray.

Jesus showed us how to pray (Matthew 6:9...) It was like an outline. A very simple way to speak with our Father. We just start out by addressing Him; Our Father in Heaven, or Heavenly Father. Then thank him for the blessings that He has given us; our families, good health, etc. Then ask for the things that we are in need of;  Help with a spouse or child, answer to a problem or blessings for a friend. And then close; in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Very plain, very simple. We do not need to be concerned with fancy words or anything. He wants to hear from us. He wants to bless us. :)

The part of prayer that we often don't think about as much, is the listening part. Answers may come right away if we stay on our knees a little longer and listen. Again, it's that thought that comes to our mind or the feeling that comes in our heart. That is Heavenly Father answering us through the Spirit, the still small voice. :)  I believe that prayers are always answered. Maybe not right away, maybe not in the way we expect. Heavenly Father always answers our prayers.

Ok, my goodness this is long. If you got this far, thank you for being interested in what I had to say. :)

Have a great week. Take care....
