Good Saturday Morning,

A friend of ours treated us to a wonderful dinner at a Chinese buffet today.  They had crab legs available. They are good. Yum.

Our friend is a man who has been a friend of my husband from work in Utah  since back in 1979 I believe. Hadn't seen each other in years til they found out that each other had moved up here to the same little Wyoming town.  And he looks like Santa. lol In fact he is Santa during the Christmas season.

The weather has been nice but a little windy in the daytime. And very cold at night. We got a little dusting of snow today.

Well, I guess that is it. Short and sweet.  Have a great day today.  Besides the usually housework, do something fun, k? :)

Welcome to my new followers. :)

Take care all....

Awwww....aren't they cute?

Save Your Brain Cells, Turn Off The TV LOL

Good morning everyone,

A friend of mine came up with this post title. I had asked him for a topic.  lol

I don't really think I can talk about saving my brain cells now cause it is kinda late and they aren't working very well. Soooo I will show some interesting TV pictures instead.

What I didn't notice about this one when I got it from Google was that it has doors on it. Wow, 1952 model. Before my time, just a bit. :)

This one above reminds me of my grandparents TV. See the two big dials?  You had to get up off your duff and turn it on/off, up/down, and change the channels. All 6 of them. lol And it was a black and white.

This is a color console.

This one has a radio and you open the top and find a record player/turntable.

 Remember the small portable ones?

Now, there are flat screen TVs. Wow, from 1952 to 2012. That's 60 years of TV. But it has been around longer. Just a little longer. :)

Oh and remember this from the 'olden' days?....

My, how things have changed. :)

But what did people do before TV?

They listened to the radio. How would it be? Back in the days when it was safe. No censoring because there was no need. Programs that let you use your imagination. Nothing to see or hear that would corrupt your mind. Uh oh, I better stop there or my little soap box will come out. LOL

So ends our little trip down memory lane.

Have a great day everyone....Take care

$2,800+ ARE YOU NUTS??? LOL

Hi all,

I guess this is the second of a two part 'ARE YOU NUTS? series. :)

Yesterday something strange happened here. I was sitting in the back of the house reading or watching TV when all of a sudden I heard a big noise and felt a rumbling beneath me. This was different than the usual noise and feeling of the house rattling from the wind. This happens because at the moment we are living a a single-wide mobile home. Kind of like this one:

When the wind blows we can feel the place move and it sometimes sounds like the roof is going to blow away. We are use to those moments. But yesterday was different. There was the big noise like it was the wind but there was the rumbling. And it seemed like the rumbling started in the back where I was and moved the length of the house. Like something went speeding under house.

A little while later Hubby went to the kitchen in the front of the house and opened the window and noticed that there was something out on the driveway.  When I looked out I saw two long thin pieces of vinyl. How they were laying there was odd. It is hard to describe. Each had an end that sat close to the two front corners of the house and the other ends were further away like this > only pointed up. Not sure if that explains it. lol

Anyway I went out to see what it was.  It was the lower track for the skirting. In the picture above the skirting is the part below the lower colored strip.  There is a casing goes across that covers the top edge of the skirting and a track below that the skirting sits in. Also the middle area of the skirting was pushed out, not completely torn away.

I thought this is weird. What could have happened? It was like the rumble under the house front back to front was something that sped along and plowed into the front end and stopped. The house is about a foot and a 1/2 off the ground. Anyway, made me think of the movie Tremors. Google it if you haven't seen it. :)

Later in the evening, actually later in the wee hours of this morning I noticed that the pilot light on the furnace was out again. This made me wonder if that and the gas lines had anything to do with the rumbling.  I went to light the pilot and it didn't work. Three times I tired. :(   So we had to sleep without the heat. Thank goodness it wasn't very cold inside or out.

This morning the maintenance guy came and got it working on his first try. Hmm. After that I asked a heating guy to come and look at the furnace. He said that the  problem is the ignition thing. And because the furnace is so old it will only get worse and should be replaced. They don't make this model anymore.  I asked how much would it cost. This is where the ARE YOU NUTS? comes in.

We said $2800 + WOW!  I thought well the lady that owns the place can pay for it since it was a preexisting problem. :)

Anyway that is the excitement that we had the last 46 hours. :)

Wasn't this a long and boring post? lol  We are hoping to find a house soon and move. And it will be that last move we make. :) Maybe a house that looks a little like this one 'cept  with not as many stairs.

I love log homes. :)

Take care my friends...

P.S.  12:00 am..... quite a while after posting this..just had to light the pilot light a few mins ago. My goodness. LOL

NO CHOCOLATE?!?!? ARE YOU NUTS???

Hi there,

Do you remember this  picture from my March 11th post? There were several others too.  I was kinda having a chocolate attack.

Also remember I had to be in the hospital over night with chest pains? The doctor said he didn't think it was a heart problem,  maybe my esophagus or maybe acid reflux. Well,  a couple weeks ago the doctor prescribed  a pill for me to take and told me no alcohol, no problem there,  no something (can't remember), no problem there.  And he said no caffeine. I thought well no  problem there either cause I don't drink coffee.

Then a very weird feeling came over me. :(  Sniff, sniff.  Chocolate has caffeine in it. OH NO! I told him that I am a chocoholic. He said no chocolate. Lower lip starts quivering..Sniff, sniff again.  He said you have to do this so that we can get proper results. Its only for four weeks.  ONLY FOR FOUR WEEKS ??

I am now at the beginning of week 2.  I'm almost half way there.

You chocoholics out there...have you ever gone to the store to get a treat and found:

Chocolate here
Chocolate there
Chocolate, chocolate
Everywhere?

It is very hard to find non-chocolate treats that will satisfy the cravings of a chocoholic.

OH DEAR!  Remember this??

Biting lower lip.  I know, you are asking, why is she torturing herself, right?   I have no answer for you, I'm sorry.

I think I better go. LOL Take care my friends...

From Christmas Meadows To Manorlands

Hi everyone,

I hope all of you have had a great Monday and that your Easter weekend was wonderful. Thinking of our Saviour always makes my weekends and every day wonderful. :)

Today I wanted to show you pictures of Manorlands it is in the Christmas Meadows area of the Uintah Mountains in northern Utah.  A few years ago my husband and I were security and caretakers there. We were there for about 2 1/2 years. We thought that we would be there forever. I miss it alot.

See the deer to the left of the tree or pole above?

Above, in the pic that shows the road signs....there is a measurement   gage  on the sign pole, can anyone tell how high the snow is?
And look at that elk. We've seen herds of 60 or so at a time. It's amazing.
The last pic is of our house when we were there. They called it the 'Security Cabin' I don't see where it resembles a cabin. Just that it is in the woods and inside we had a wood burning stove. :)

We had about 300-500 property owners ( I think). And 22 miles of road. And acres and acres of land to keep an eye on. It was great.

Mel's sister and family have a place there and we have friends up there still so we can visit.  Been a long time though since we have been able to go.  It is also a great place to go if you want to see the leaves changing color in the fall. Sighhhhh....

Gotta go Take care all....

Christmas Meadows

Hi everyone,

Nope, this is not a Christmas post. When we lived in the High Uintah Mountains of northern Utah, the area that we lived in was called Christmas Meadows. Well, at least that is what it said in the phone book. Here are some pictures of Christmas Meadows.

Isn't it lovely? Next time some pictures of our place within the Christmas Meadows area.

Have a great Monday everyone. Take care...

HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY, HE LIVES!

"HE IS NOT HERE HE IS RISEN!" said the angels to Mary. Then she knew for sure when Jesus came to her. What a wonderful thing.

The words of a song come to mind:

I know that my Redeemer lives.
What comfort this sweet sentence gives.
He lives, He lives who once was dead.
He lives my ever living Head.

Then after teaching his Apostles the things that they needed to know. He ascended into Heaven. And again angels were there and said:

"Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" Act 1:11

I want you to know that I know that Jesus died for me and for you. He died to take away our sins so that if we repent we will not have to suffer for our sins. That by giving His life He have us life. I know that we too will live again.

Heavenly Father and Jesus live. They love us so much. May we show our love in return by living as They would have us live. Jesus showed us the way to live. He is our example. He is who we should follow.
I know with all my heart that His teachings and church are true. That He is the way the truth and the LIFE.

I know that He WILL come again. And what a joyous day it will be.

I pray you have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.

Take care....
