New Latter Day Saint Blog, And A Princess Downy Story :)

Hi everyone,

I hope that you all had a great day. My day was fun, laundry, taking the garbage out, going around the block to get the mail etc. lol  

For a long time I have been trying to decide on whether to start a new blog. A religion blog. I run a chat room that is about religion. A particular religion. The room is called Latter Day Saint Beliefs.  In this room we talk about the doctrines of the church and answer questions that people have that stop in to visit.  We insist on mutual respect in this room.  The reason for that is that speaking about your beliefs is a special thing. And the room shouldn't be a place for debating and contention. When it becomes this way then the spirit is gone and no one learns or understands about the others faith.

An Article of Faith of the LDS church is: 

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

Anyway, those of you who follow this blog who are LDS may want to go to this new blog and sign up to follow. Those of you who are not are welcome too. :)  You are all so sweet to me and I would love to have you there too. Maybe you have wondered about the church and have questions. Or maybe you'd just like to stop by and read what will be there.  The LDS church may have more in common with your beliefs than you think. :) Since I just created the blog this evening, it may take until Tuesday evening to be available. Ok, now for the Downy story....Earlier tonight I took Downy outside. We'd been back inside just a couple minutes when Downy started barking like crazy. She went to the front door and barked and barked and barked. lol And in between her barking and heard the bark of a big dog. Downy barked and the other dog barked. Back and forth, it was sooo funny. 

I looked out the window and saw the new neighbors dog right up on our porch outside the door. And I saw the neighbor girl coming through the yard from the back to get her. Downy kept barking. I told her they were gone and over here on the other side of the house.  She came over by me and started barking. After a while she finally settled down. It was hilarious. LOL

A Little Of This And A Little Of That

BRRRRRRR  LOL  It is so cold outside.  The last two times I took Downy outside I couldn't believe it. I was surprised that she didn't hurry back inside.

Although both times she did decide to 'go'  just past the bottom of the stairs instead of out in the shoveled area in the yard. Except the second time when she had more than one thing to do.

Well today we didn't get to go to church because Mel had been having bad headaches the past couple of days. It makes me nervous when this happens and I can't leave him alone. 

I did get to watch a scripture discussion program on TV.  And a 2002 remake of the movie Pollyanna.  It really wasn't the same. I like the old one better. Hayley Mills is great in that and in The Parent Trap too.

I also read more of my book, The Inevitable Apostasy and The Promised Restoration. It's at least two inches thick. I have about 100 pages left. It is a very good book. It is mostly about the change that the primitive Church of Christ has gone through from  Jesus' time til now.

Oh my goodness!!!  BRRRRR I just took Downy out again. She was quick at what she had to do but then decided that she was going to try to wake up the neighborhood. lol Silly lil' critter.  She has gone to bed now.

As you can see I changed my background again. I thought I should have a nice Valentine's one. Maybe it will stay til the end of the month. :)

Welcome And Has Anyone Seen My Little Doggie?

Howdy, 

Welcome to Loafer Mountain Primitives.  :)

My goodness it has been windy today!  The little bit of new snow that we got the other day has been whipped around so much. lol.  We now have a cool snowboarders hill in our driveway...well, almost. :)

I put Princess Downy's little coat on her early this afternoon when I took her out. LOL It really didn't do much good.  Most the time she was out the back end of it was flipped up and not covering her poor little back.  AND silly doggie, she, as most dogs do, went around and around and around and around and around and around (making me very dizzy) and around and around and finally stopped to squat down.  And she was facing right into the wind. Doesn't the song say 'you don't sit into the wind'?  Oh, wait...that's not how it goes, it's 'spit into the wind'.. lol Anyway, I wonder why she does that. Hmm

I was thinking that she would get blown away it was so windy.  I just took her out now and it was freeeeeeezing. BRRRRR   Thought she would hurry if I didn't put her coat on her. WRONG  Another dog from around the block started barking and off she went...barking I mean.  My goodness, I had to have daddy holler to her to come in. Usually she comes right away when he calls.

With this wind though I thought I was going to have to chase her down the road as she was blowing away. :(

The picture above is what Downy looked like when she was little when we got her.  And she is only a little bigger than that now. She won't get any bigger. This isn't her though.  Not sure where the pictures are of her.  Her breed all look alike. :)  Isn't she cute?

The Biz And Thank You

Hi all,

I am just working out the things I will be making to sell on my blog.  Trying to figure out what supplies I will need and how much and the cost.  And working a little on a business plan. I guess I should work ALOT on the business plan part. :)

I like the little candle picture above. I will be making something like that. But not exactly. lol  Can't give things away now, can I?

I will have some other things that kinda go with the theme title of my business blog.  

I also need to try and get ready for a show here in town the last part of April.  Oh my goodness. There is so much to do and so little time and energy lol.

I would like to thank those of you who leave comments here. Especially those of you who are regulars.  You know who you are. :)  I am so glad that we've met. I like having new friends. You are all very sweet.

That They Might Know Thee The Only True God.....

Howdy everyone,

I hope you have had a good Wednesday.  Mine was a bit stressing but it is over. YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!! LOL

Tomorrow is a new day and it starts technically, in 8 minutes. :)

We are finally getting a little more snow. About 3 inches or so now. We may get up to 6 inches. I hope so.  I can't believe all this spring weather everywhere. It is lovely but winter needs to come first. lol

 The Second Coming of Christ is a favorite topic of study for me. As well as the Atonement, the most important thing in our lives.  I like to study the scriptures. To try to really understand what He did for us. There is so much more to it than we know. 

I may have mentioned this verse before: 

 

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.  John 17:3

This is one of my favorite verses. The most important one, I think.  Jesus is saying that life eternal is knowing who He and Heavenly Father really are.  We need to know who they are. There are so many opinions out there of who THEY are. They can't all be right. 

I'd like to say that I know that God lives. That Jesus is his son. That he also lives.  I know that Jesus suffered so much that he bled from every pore. He suffered for me. I am so thankful for his love and for all that he has done and still does for me. I know that  they know each of us and love us more than we can imagine.  May we follow Christ's teachings and example. May we all be hearers and doers of His word.  

I love THEM with all my heart, might, mind and strength. :)

This And That :)

Hi everyone,

WOW! I can't believe it is February already.  Where did January go? 

Internet update.  Internet guy came while I was gone and didn't call like he was supposed to. Didn't do anything.  Oh well...Cable channels are added and I think that in a couple days cable and internet will be back to normal. 

 The other day I was able to visit a lady that had  bears all over her office. Big bears, little bears, in between size bears. :)  She let me take pictures of them.  I will try to get them on my business blog soon and maybe here too. It will be great since the name of my business is Bear Country Primitives. And for those of you who don't know yet here is the link.  http://bearcountryprimitives.blogspot.com  This site should be up and running in about one month.  :)

Snow? Well, it is in the  forecast.  Won't be much though. :( Maybe an inch or so. This has been the strangest winter ever.  I wonder if it is waiting for summer? LOL  Well, around here that wouldn't be an odd thing....we have had blizzards in July, honest.

One day, and I can't remember what month it was, maybe in the spring we had so much snow. I got up to go to work in the morning and had to brush about  8 inches of snow of my car.  It kept on snowing through the morning. At about noon or one o'clock I had to brush the same amount of snow off my car to go home for lunch. It kept on snowing, so much that just an hour later I was brushing lots of snow of the car again to go back to work. And it kept on snowing.  At about 6pm I was off work and there was a foot or more of snow on my car. I couldn't believe it!  And it was freezing. There was ice under all that snow.  I had to sit in my car for a long time defrosting the windows. It was quite a day. :)

Is anyone watching the Republican Campaign?  When there is a primary I check out the news channels to see whats happening. I usually miss the debates. I can't remember when they are on. I am not sure what I think about things. :)  But feel free to comment on this if you'd like. :)

I guess I will say one thing.  I think that a persons religion should not be an issue.  Mr Romney is LDS. Mr Santorum and Mr. Gingrich are Catholics, and Mr Perry ( no longer running) is Evangelical, I think.  Soooo? :)  We as republicans or democrats, are voting for the person that will be able to fix the economy, get more jobs, and help people stay in their homes etc. Whether they are republicans or democrats.  Someone said recently, " We are voting for a Commander-in-chief not a Pastor-in-chief." I hope I said that right.  Ok, I'm done. :)

Oh my goodness.....I am surprised that my internet is still ok. I should probably post this before something happens.
