MOVING DAY IS COMING

Hi everyone. I hope you have had a good week. It is almost over. The weekend is almost here. :)
We have been having crazy hot days lately, but thank goodness cool nights. We have been packing and cleaning. I have moved lots of times and know the drill. :) But now it seems like I just can't do it any more. This might be the last time.
Anyway, we will be loading the moving van tomorrow evening and leaving town Saturday morning. We should arrive in Logan, Utah around noon or one.
Tomorrow morning we are going to go to Logan to sign the papers, pay the rent and get the keys. We will be able to see the place and unload some thing from the car into the dining room. The carpet may still be wet. Then leave to be back in time for loading the moving van.
I sure hope all goes well. I hope too that the UNpacking will go smoother and quicker  than packing. lol
I will not have internet for a while. I can go to the library in town once in a while to check emails and maybe get a post in. The first time may not be for a while though. I can still get your emails and comments on my cell phone internet. :) That is a good thing.
I will miss coming here to read about what all of you are up to. I will miss you. If you want you can email me. :) I'd love you hear from you.
Well, I gotta run..have a great rest of the week and a wonderful weekend. Take care :)

Sunday's Think-About-Verse

Hi everyone. I hope that you all have had a great weekend. A cooler one. We had awfully hot days this past week. Friday and Saturday nights cooled things down a lot.  Friday night we had a great thunder, lightning and rain storm. It was wonderful. And today, Sunday, was cooler. Another storm is brewing at this very minute. :)  I am very grateful to the Lord for this. During the awfully hot times I totally lost my head. I was very scary. :(

Today's think-about-verse is 1 John 3:2....

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  (italics and underline added)

What does this verse mean to you? What concepts or doctrines do you see being taught here? I'd be interested in your answers. Let me know what you think, k?

Have a wonderful week everyone...

Prayer Request Mom Update

Hello everyone,

Thank you Jan and Susan for your prayers. Last night I was just so frazzled. :(

What happened was this...mom always takes the big trash can with wheels down to the curb. Well she was doing this when she fell. She lives in a fourplex. And someone left the garden hose out and it was in her way. She stepped on it and it rolled I guess and she went down and smashed the back of her head on a big flower pot. It happened so fast the she couldn't get her hands out to stop herself. :(

She had a laceration on her head. First they told me that they may stitch it up. Then maybe just glue it. Then they took her to radiology for a brain CT scan and also a CT of her neck. She was fine except that they found a menengioma (sp) in her brain. The doc said that it didn't seem to be the type of a tumor that would be cancerous cause it had not grown since her last CT scan. The neck CT showed the uppermost part of her lungs and a nodule in the left one. The doc is a little concerned about that and told her to follow up on that with her doc. Well, mom doesn't have a regular doc so it won't happen. :(  Both of these things can be benign or non cancerous.  I will pray for this.

After all of this. two hours later they finally cleaned up her head and decided not to do anything to the laceration..they didn't even dress it and cover I am told. How weird is that?

I talked to her today. She sounds like her old self. Her head doesn't hurt at all.  Soon I will talk to her again about her and my sister moving down here. So I can have all the stressful events in one place. LOL

We got the ok to move to the place that we want in Logan, Utah.  We will be moving on the first or second Saturday of next month. YAYYY !! I can't wait.

That's about all that is going on here. I hope things are a lot better for all of you. And that you have a wonderful day.

Take care. :)

PRAYER REQUEST

Hi everyone. I hope your evening is going well. :)

Um...a couple hours ago I got a call from my sister saying that my mother had fallen outside and hit her head on a terra cotta  flower pot. It took me forever to get through to the ER. I am waiting for the doctor to call me.

She is needing stitches. And I am hoping that they will keep her over night. She is almost 80 and has poor health. They better keep her over night. Anyway, please pray for her. And for my sister and her son who have a hard time with this type of situation. I worry for my sister having to stay alone at night. She has her worst times at night and worst Parkinson's times first thing in the morning.

Thank you...God bless you all.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation..2010

I hope you are all having a great weekend so far.

In the summer of 2010 I went to visit my mom and sister in Washington state. Besides trying to help them with there health concerns and having a lovely spiritual experience that you can read about HERE,  I got to visit with a girlfriend I went to school with. We hadn't seen  each other in over twenty years. We had a blast. I wanted to show you pictures of where we went. :)

Coupeville, Washington is a little town in or near Oak Harbor and Whidby Island. It has great little shops and is on the water.

The place with the red room is a Bed and Breakfast. Isn't it cute? This next one is a picture of a restaurant out on the water. There are also a couple of gift shops in there. I thought I had a closer picture.

Then a couple pictures of my friend and I.  Have I shown a picture of me on here before? Hmm. I know I did once back when I first started my blog in November of last year. Well, I actually started my blog on Halloween. But it was on my sidebar and I have since deleted it.  Don't know if there is another. Anyway, I guess we won't know who is me and who is my friend. I won't tell who took the pictures. Maybe I took them all or maybe not. :)

These last two pictures are of the Deception Pass bridge that I had to go over on my way to and from Coupeville. The pictures are cool, but seeing it in person is way better. It has quite a history too. If you are interested just Google Deception Pass.

This was quite a drive from mom's place.  And I had never been there before. I over shot a turn, just once, and ended up in another town. lol  Well I hope this was a fun little trip. Maybe the next 'trip' pictures will be Logan. :)  We got approved for the apartment that we wanted. YAYYY!  Has the 'must haves' that I wanted: No stairs, a closed in patio for Princess Downy, TWO bathrooms (WOOHOO!!), and a dishwasher that is NOT me. LOL  Who can ask for anything more?

Gotta run..I hope you all have a great weekend. And that you get rain if you need it. Take care.

Rain, Outage AND STARS...OH MYYYYYY

Hello everyone, I hope that you have had a great week so far.

Today I was in Smith's Food and Drug, the only supermarket in town besides Walmart. I had just picked up my last item and was headed to the self check out area when the lights went out. And the registers went down. All except one at the other end of the row of check stands. I went down there to check out and then left.

While I was in the store it had started to rain and the wind was blowing. It  was nice and cool. I stood there with my face turned up and felt the cold rain drops on my face. It was great.  The power was out part of the way home. When I got home I found out that our power had gone out too. We were across town from the store.

I called the power company and was told that it may be til 10pm before the power would be back. It was about 7pm.  Well, 10pm came and went. We sat around in complete darkness. Even after I borrowed a good flashlight from our neighbor.  I called the power company again and the time of it to be repaired was moved to between 12 midnight and 2am. Dandy. lol Oh, and they said that 7,200 + people were without power. I am thinking that is almost half the population here. Maybe.

Well I thought that's fine I can just sit here in the dark and think about our plans for moving. Tomorrow we will find out if we will  get the place we want.  I wasn't going to sit here and whine and complain about no power. Not when so many people in the east have been without power for a week or more.

The power came back on at 12:54am. :)

At one point I stood in the front doorway and looked up and WOW...have you ever  done that?  Looked up and seen zillions of stars? I love when that happens. It is so amazing. :)

Also before it got dark I saw part of a rainbow in the eastern sky.

So many beautiful things that Heavenly Father created for us to enjoy. Sigh...

Well, I should go. Have a wonderful day.

Stay cool and take care...

Backyard Blackberries And Malware Virus

Hi everyone,

I hope all of you have had a great weekend. Ours was a bit hot. Whew! I know that it isn't nearly as hot here as where some of you are. I pray for you to get rain if you need it and want it. :)

Backyard blackberries.....

The backyard of the house where I grew up was not like most backyards.  It was big. It could have been a great place for a swing set, and playhouse and other fun kids stuff..but....

It was all weeds.  Dad had plowed it up many times with the intent on putting in grass. But there was one BIG problem. A GIANT blackberry bush in the middle of the yard. Now, how could this be a problem you ask?

Well blackberry bushes don't give in easily. They have an extra-ordinary will to survive.   Dad just could not get it out of the ground. So what happened was, we enjoyed the huge blackberries for many years. And played in the front yard. :)

Also I remember one time that me and a friend went to  pick blackberries in my neighbors backyard.  There was a hornets nest under the bush. I didn't know this and I stepped in the wrong place.Well the hornets didn't like that at all. One flew right into my face and stung me in the eye. Boy, did I yell and run toward my house. My mom had heard me and was out at the back door before I got there.

I don't think I picked berries in their yard again. :)

I should go. Stay safe, oh have you heard about the internet shut down virus?? I don't know much, just that you have go to www.dns-ok.us to make sure your computer will be ok. If you get green in your picture you will be ok I you get red then you will have a problem and I don't know what you can do except call your internet provider. This is real and the FBI are into it.  Hackers are using this virus to mess up computers all over the world. I think people in the east have already had this happen. Be sure to do this before 12 midnight EDT tonight (Sunday). Hope all will be well.

Have a great week. Take care....

Enjoy...

RAIN RAIN DON'T GO AWAY

Hi everyone,

Well we finally got some rain yesterday. It kinda rained and drizzled during the afternoon and evening. We do need more though. It is very dry here as it is everywhere.

All of the fires that are still ablaze everywhere make me sad. So much loss. So tragic for the families who have lost their homes. And the lives lost. :(

Please pray with me for rain where it is needed. That it will help to put out the fires. And also for power to return to whose who don't have it. And especially for the temperatures to go down. People are suffering so. :(

Please have a safe and cool weekend everyone and....

HAPPY 4TH AGAIN :)

I hope that it has been a safe and cool day for all of you. We saw the city fireworks from our porch. They lit them off from the football field at the middle school.

Princess Downy was having a hard time with all the noise. :( Really hasn't bothered her before.

Praying for rain and cooler temperatures.

Have a great Thursday. Take care.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all having a great summer so far. I know that most of us are dealing with very hot temps. It is very hot here but not as hot as in other places.  I pray for us all to be ok and to get the rain we need.

Above is a picture of those who were involved in the writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The Declaration of Independence was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as independent states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. John Adams put forth a resolution earlier in the year which made a formal declaration inevitable. A committee was assembled to draft the formal declaration, to be ready when congress voted on independence. Adams persuaded the committee to select Thomas Jefferson to compose the original draft of the document, which congress would edit to produce the final version. The Declaration was ultimately a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain, more than a year after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The Independence Day of the United States of America is celebrated on July 4, the day Congress approved the wording of the Declaration.

I had a thought last night that made me think of this question: What does the 4th of July mean to you?  Then I thought..what do we think of during the reunions, picnics, BBQ's and fireworks?

I have to say that I am guilty of not thinking of the big picture. What it means to live in America. What it means that we are not under the rule of another country. What it means to have the freedoms that we have. And the "cost" (in lives) for those freedoms.  What it means to keep them.

Our country is in trouble..we need to stand up for what is right and not let anyone, ANYONE take these rights and freedoms away. They were given to us by God. No one has the right to take them away.

So many things have been happening in the government that can and will take away our rights to choose. Things that are not what God intended. We need to not given in to these things. We need to fight for what we believe in .

On Wednesday the 4th of July..what will you be thinking about? :)
And on November 6th I hope our votes will count. And that we are all  on God's side.

Take care my friends...
