SPRING HAS SPRUNG THE GRASS HAS RIZ....I WONDER WHERE THE WINTER IS

Ok, I know that isn't how it goes...but that is my question.  Seems like we just went from Fall to Spring. Now Winter. :( Blogging friends in the mid west and the east got all the snow. Rats! lol

Anyway, Spring is starting to show herself here. Below are a few photos of the flowers and bushes around our apartment complex. I don't know what these are. Do any of you know?

The last one above is strange. There are several of these bushes around the place. It looks like two different ones were planted together.

When the other flowers bloom I will take more pictures. We have had some nice days lately. Also we have a nearly naked maple tree just outside by our balcony. In just a few weeks it will be full of nice big green maple leaves. :)

That is how we found it when we moved in almost one year ago. I have been waiting for the little whirleybird  things that come from maple trees. I think I will be sad if our tree doesn't have them. lol

Updates on everyone.....mom is doing ok but gets anxious and scared at night. :(  Sister is having trouble at the 'home' she is living in not sure now to help and the people there are almost at the end of their ropes. :(  Hubby is doing a lot better in most ways. Others are still a struggle. But we will get through it. :)

Well, that's it for today. Maybe my next post will be soon. I have some nice photos for it.

Take care all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME......YESTERDAY

Hi everyone,

Well, yesterday was my birthday. Do you want to know what I did?

We slept in a bit. Then I got up gave hubby meds, checked his blood sugar, gave him insulin, made him breakfast and helped him get dressed.

Then his bath aid came and gave him a shave and he brushed his teeth and took off in his power chair to get the mail and visit with neighbors downstairs.

Then I swept the floor and carpet ( vac not working), cleaned the stove, cleared of a counter and put stuff in storage, bath aid helped clean the stove burners and went to get a few things at the store. I did a few loads of laundry.

Then we made hubby lunch. Went to hunt down a trash dumpster for some big bags of trash in the car and I couldn't dump here coz dumpster were locked shut. grrrr  I visited my mom in the nursing home. And came back and made dinner. And at about 10 pm got a little nap.

Then gave hubby meds, checked his blood sugar, gave him insulin and put him to bed. Whew!

Ok, I'm done.

That was my Friday the 13th birthday. The only other time I remember a Friday the 13th birthday was when I was a kid.  All I got for my birthday was underwear. :(

LOL...take care my friends

REMEMBER THESE FAB FASHIONS OF THE 60s AND 70s?

I went on stroll down memory lane reading a friend's post yesterday and decided to take another stroll. Does anyone remember these Fab Fashions?  :)

These are Go-Go Boots. Why they are so named I have no idea. I had a pair like this in grade school. They looked better than these kinda shape-less things. lol

These other items I had at different stages in my young life. I don't know what order they came in.

Bell bottom pants.

Hot pants (I had a pair like the ones with suspenders) I wore them with a gold long sleeved blouse. The sleeves  were kinda poofy at the bottom with button cluffs.

Sizzler Dresses..Cute short dresses with matching underwear or shorts.

The two pictures above are of Gunny Sax dresses. The spelling may be wrong. The blue one was like one I had only the white on the skirt was wider and crocheted.  The white dress is kinda like the one I had. Mine had a very full skirt, thicker material and very modest. These I wore to church in my late teens in the mid to late 70s

Well there is just a few of the frightening styles of the 70s. LOL

Wow! I wouldn't be caught dead in these things now. Well maybe the bell bottoms wouldn't be too bad. And the long dresses were lovely.

Well I guess that's it for now. Take care my friends.
