Welcome And "Sandy"

 Hello everyone,

I would like to welcome my new followers. We are getting nice and nippy Autumn weather here in northern Utah.  We have many kinds of leaves all over the ground. I am glad that I don't have to rake them all up. lol We are in an apartment complex, and I hope that they clean things up a bit. :)

I have been listening for a few hours this morning to CNN's coverage of the hurricane that's off the east coast. It is going to be terrible when it hits at New Jersey and New York. It is about 1,000 miles wide and will effect more than 50 million people.  They are expecting it to make landfall this evening. People as far north as Canada, east to Ohio, and south to Georgia may be effected by it. Also very wide spread power outages are expected.

Please pray for the safety of all those in these areas. If you are among them please, please be safe

Take care and God Bless you all.

SNOW, WE GOT SNOW!

Ok, so it really wasn't much snow but snow none the less. We got a little dusting of snow Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.  We are suppose to get more snow showers during the next few days but not much.

First I would like to say to those of you who are not snow people or not ready for it yet, I am sorry for what you are about to see. :) To those of you like me, who are more than ready or who love snow at any time of the year...here are some neat snow pictures.

These were taken at our place in the mountains back in 2004-2005.

In the picture with the road sign there  are measurements on the post. Can you see how deep the snow is there?  Kinda looks close to 3 feet or more. Now that's snow.  I love it when it is like that and all over every branch on every tree. On the fence rails and everything. Sighhhh......

On nights when it is like this outside, when the wind is blowing the snow is falling and it is 20 below...it is great to curl up by the fire, drink hot chocolate and watch the snow fall. Oh no I better stop or I may go crazy. lol

I should go now. :) Take care everyone.

LEAVES LEAVES, PRINCESS DOWNY AND MOM

Hi all,

Well, the leaves are finally REALLY falling now. :) It is great.  I love, as I have said before, to see their different colors and feel the nip in the air. Also the trees here in the yard have some type of berries that are falling too. Can't figure out what they are though.

The reason I am mentioning this is Princess Downy...since we have moved, and I hope that I am not repeating myself, she has been a little crazy. Her eating and sleeping schedule has been off. And she has been doing weird things.

The Princess is used to having her own little yard. Well sort of, it is not fenced in and gets a visitor once in a while. But for the most part it is all hers. Here there is a huge front yard that is shared by all the tenets.  There is a common 'doggie area' that is around the building and across the  parking lot.  Since this place is 'used' by all there are many smells and surprises that she has never experienced.

Also, the lady who lived in this apartment before us had cats and a dog. I was told by neighbors that she never took the dog out when it had to 'go'. EWWWWW :(  The carpet, though cleaned, looked bad when we got here and we had wet feet for three days. We had it cleaned again. Downy lives on the carpet and breathes in the smells that come from the padding. You cannot clean padding so I am sure that there is 'stuff' under the carpet.  Anyway, enough gross stuff..on to the weird.

Downy has never eaten stuff of the ground, ever. Well, just grass like dogs and cats will do when they have tummy troubles. When I have had her out at our old house,  I have watched her nearly every second because she could just take off down the road. Well...remember the leaves and berries? Yes, she is know eating them.  Every two steps or so she will stop and try to eat one. She has succeeded  a few times. My goodness, what is going on here??? I have had to pull leaves out of her mouth bigger then she is. And berries with the stems still on them have been removed while others that been swallowed.

As much as I like the falling leaves and all I am waiting very impatiently for the snow which will cover what is on the ground and stop this insanity.  I hope.

Now a mom update. I am still trying to figure out what to do. I want to thank those who left comments for your thoughts and prayers. You are so kind. I have not slept well for the past 8 years or so and even less so in the last little while. I could really use your prayers.  Please pray for us all. Ok?

Gotta run, have a wonderful Sunday.  Take care.

Much Ado About Mother

Hi everyone,

Isn't this sweet little girl cute? This is my mom back in the early 1930s

Well I just don't know what to do. Mom is not doing too well. My sister who has her own health troubles, told me she just can't handle it alone.  It looks like we are going to have to go there. Not just for a visit, but to live. We just moved to where we are now.

There are many things to consider....we don't have the money, we may have to sell all we have to get there, we will have to arrange for a place to live  once we get there, and more. Also the move will have to be done in a next few weeks before the snow flies. I just don't know how I am going to do this. I may have a major headache soon that won't stop until after the beginning of next month.

Mom, won't and I guess can't physically make the trip if I go up to bring her and my sister down here. It would be easier and cheaper to do that.

I have been really exhausted for the past few months or so already. And having a hard time getting motivated to unpack. Or to get on a good schedule as far as going to sleep and getting up at a decent time. Oh my goodness.....sigh.....

Anyway there is so much more to say about it but it would not be good to do so. I may get all upset and cry so....

Something in our life has to go right sometime soon. Right?

Well sorry this was not a positive post to read.

I hope it didn't spoil your day. Have a good one.

Take care my friends

P.S. Please pray for us.

A SWEET STORY, PLEASE READ

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 years old. Next to her is her fiance, Nick, 23. This picture was taken prior to their wedding, January 11th, 2012. Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy. Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions...

Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care of every single part of the wedding planning. Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie's constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank.  Katie had to use it during the ceremony  and reception. The other couple in the picture  is Nick's  parents, very emotional with the wedding, and to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love with when he was an adolescent.

Katie in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her.

In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest for a  bit and catch her breath. The pain does not allow her to stand for a long period of time.

Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as a bride with a beautiful smile makes you think....
Happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.
Lets enjoy life and don't let it get so complicated.Life is too short. Work as if it was your first day. Forgive as soon as possible. Love without boundaries. Laugh without control and never stop smiling. Be happy!!
Please pray for those suffering from cancer.

This was an email that I received from a friend today. To all my blog land friends who are now or who have suffered with cancer or know someone  who are suffering ...I am praying for you. I know what its like. I have been there. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept-Oct of 2004. I went through it all for a year. I have been in remission since 2005.  It bothers me that this disease can pick and choose who to take and who to let survive. Like a stroke or a heart attack. It hurts to see people suffer with this.

We have to find a cure. Whenever you can do whatever you can to help. Please.

Take care my friends....

God Bless

I don't know what happened to my text the font is going nuts and I can't fix it.  Also I made the same spacing between pictures and text and it came out crazy. Everything looks perfect. Sorry

I KNOW I KNOW IT ISN'T WINTER YET....

....but I just couldn't resist. If it is going to be cold at night then it should rain or snow or something, right? :)

I love this picture..the trees.. the snow... the quietness. I didn't have another  picture of this size for the fall season. That's ok though...winter is just around the corner, right??

Well finally got  linked up to the Newbie Party. Visited a couple blogs. Then my computer went nuts and I had to reboot. Then I couldn't get back to it because I didn't know how to without having to do everything all over again. lol Oh well, I will try again next week.

How are all of you doing? I miss hearing from you. Please stay and leave me a comment about how you are doing and what you have been up to. :)

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone and....

COUNTDOWN TO CONFERENCE :)

Howdy everyone,

T minus 12 hours and 45 mins or so and counting. LOL

My church has a general conference where many people from all around the world watch via television, internet, and in person in Salt Lake City, Utah. Or listen to on the radio. Thousands travel to Salt Lake to see it in person.
The conference is a two day event with two 2-hour sessions each day where the church leaders speak about different gospel topics. This happens twice a year: the first weekend in April and the first weekend in October.

There is always something new to learn. Something new that will help you feel the spirit of God burn within your heart.  It is a very uplifting, faith strengthening, and spiritual occasion. People of many faiths, nationalities, different walks of life are inspired.

Below is what are called word clouds. A word cloud is created from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to the words that appear more frequently in the text source. These have been made from talks given by church leaders at general conference over the past few years.

So these are the topics that are spoken of in our general conference:

So you can see who the most talked about person is. :)

Well, now it is T minus 11 hours or so and counting. Those of you who will be watching I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I will. Those who have not seen it before are welcome to check out the site www.lds.org for videos of the talks to watch. :)

Have a blessed weekend everyone. Take care.
