In my first post I think it was, I mentioned that when I started my blog I had the idea to respond to questions about my faith. Then even though my faith is my life, I wrote, I decided to change to doing what I have been doing the past couple months. I also said that I would talk about my faith or faith in general sometime. Well I think this may be that sometime :)
In my last post I said that I had been trying to decide what to write about and mentioned some options. One was the topic What Is A Christian? (thank you to those who left comments there) My reason for thinking of this for a topic is that there should only be one answer to this question. Right? A Christian is someone who believes in Christ and follows his teachings. That is the basic answer. Some how over the years the definition of a Christian has changed to: A Christian is someone who believes "the same as I do." So, if someone of a certain faith believes 'this' and the next person does not then that person "is not a christian." Who has the right to say that someone who believes in Christ and his teachings, but not in the same way as the next guy, is not a christian? People are being called unchristian just because they don't believe in the creeds that were written centuries after the death of Christ and the Apostles. Jesus and his apostles didn't believe in them either. Are THEY not christian ?
This was just something that I have been thinking about lately because I am seeing it happen. It is very sad. Why can't people get along?
I do enjoy your comments. Have a great Friday. Take care
