Hi everyone,

Well, the weekend is almost here. I am so looking forward to this one. Our church has two worldwide conferences a year. At the beginning of October and at the beginning of April.  

The leaders of the church speak during 5 two hour sessions. They speak on many gospel topics. I love to listen to them because you can just feel how close they are to God. As we should all be. You can feel the spirit as they speak. It is neat.

Speaking of church, I thought I'd show you some pictures of the sights that I saw in Italy as a missionary. :) 

This first picture is of the coast of Naples, Italy

Then a familiar site in Rome. The Colosseum.

 The next two pictures are of the Vatican inside and out.

 

 Then below is the Ponte Vechhio (old bridge) in Florence.  There are stores in it. That is what the windows are for. :)

And another familiar sight The Leaning Tower of Pisa.

 I got to see all of these places and more. It was very nice. The oldness of the buildings is great.  The people are so nice there.

I did a post before about Italy. I am terrible I can't even remember what all I said. Anyway, I really loved it there. I was there from about October of 1982 thru March of 1984.

Well, I gotta run. I am trying to go to bed early. It is 2:45am but still earlier than I have been going to bed so I'm being, or trying to be a good girl. lol

The snow is all gone from our yard except a little bit, like maybe a couple of tablespoons worth. Don't know why it is still there, Why can't it just give in and melt away? lol Today temps got to 59 degrees. It was nice but a little windy. And then it rained this evening and may snow a little over night.

Thank you so much again for your kind comments. For your thoughts and prayers on our behalf.  My sister is doing fine today. I spoke with her on the phone. She said that she feels way better today than she did yesterday. :)

Well, I guess I will have to show you another time. They are not uploading. Probably because this computer knows that I told my husband I was coming to bed soon. It wanted to cause me to stay up longer to try and fix the problem and get in trouble. It knows. My computer is possessed sometimes. lol

Now I am not sure what to write about. Hmmm, weather was nice today I went out without a coat in the late afternoon.  Still not sure when we are going to get spring though.  

Oh, and I have a surprise. I can't tell about it yet. :)

I tried just now to get a picture and it started to upload. I thought YAYYY then it decided not to finish. BOOOOO   Oh well...

I should go, it is late (isn't it always?) LOL

Sorry that this is quite boring. Hopefully things will work right tomorrow.  I am going to have to post earlier in the evening or during the day so we can get our schedule back to normal. I think I said that before. Please look for me on your blog list a little further back. Does that sound right?  Instead of seeing me near the top of your list,  I will be further down. lol That still sounded strange. I hope you know what I mean. :)

Thank You So Much

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you so  much for your comments. And for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

I finally got to talk to my sister this evening. She is doing ok. She missed a few doses of her meds. It made her very miserable and in  pain most of the night and today. :(  When she doesn't have her Parkinson's meds she gets stiff and muscles twist up and it is very painful. She needs to use a walker, mostly just in the morning. And every morning she is walking or dragging her feet along straight ahead while her head is turned to one side. :( It is hard to see her like that. It is so unusual for someone to get this disease as early as she did.  She is almost 55 the age more or less  when one would start showing signs if they were going to get it. She has had it for 20 years or so.

I told her to hang in there, that I am still trying to figure out how to get her and mom down here with us.

Well yesterday I looked at the yard and thought well, it (the snow) will be gone by tomorrow. I was wrong. We got a little snow during the day today (Monday)  it stuck only on the grass. Sigh......

Not sure I am liking these new layout pages. It is going to change in a few days and I thought why not click on the option to do it now.  :(  I hope that it will go back to the old way again soon.

I Need Your Help

Hi everyone,

I hope you all have had a great weekend.

Please, I need your help.  My sister who I have spoken of before is in the hospital.  She is in Washington, I am in Wyoming.  I can't go to her. :(  I am not sure yet what all happened. Just that she had left the place where she lives this afternoon and never came back.  She went without her medications all this time.  

Please pray for her. She needs to have the strength to get through the challenges in her life.  I need to be able to get her and my mom down here so I can take care of them. My sister wants to come here. Mom? Not so much. She needs to see that it is best for us all to be together.  We all need your prayers. Thank you...

OH NO NOT AGAIN....And Thank You

Hi there,

How are you all doing?  We are fine. Cold but fine.   The pilot light in the furnace went out again. :(  Why can't it happen in the daytime when I can get someone to come and fix it? Last time a friend came to fix it he told me how to light it but right now I can't remember and I didn't right down the steps.  Silly me. Well thank goodness it is not below freezing outside tonight. I think it is 40 something right now.  Still a little nippy, but I think we will manage.

By next winter I intend to have a thick heavy quilt instead of two thin wimpy ones. lol  By next winter I hope we have moved to where we are going to live for the rest of our lives.  A nice little or sorta little place that looks like this:

Just got the "Princess" out for the last time. So I can go to bed soon. 

I love seeing the spring pictures that a lot of you are posting. The trees that are budding and the little flowers that are coming up in your yards. We don't have anything here yet. We have had nice temps though. Up in the 50s at times. :)

Gotta run...ohhhh run, that can warm me up.  Wish I had a long flannel nightgown and wool socks. lol

A Night At The Opera...I Mean The Hospital

Hi everyone,

I hope you all have been enjoying the weather. Seems very springy everywhere. Although,  didn't winter seem springy too? LOL

Remember the other day I mentioned that I had to go to the ER with chest pains? Well, I did it again yesterday (Wednesday).  And because it was twice in just a few days they decided to keep me.  So I got to have a vacation. YEAH, RIGHT lol

Got sticky things with cords attached to my chest and an oxygen canula in my nose, IV in my arm.  Four baby aspirin, two nitro, some IV med that started with an M and later on IV potassium, both meds in regular IV saline bags. Hospital food that wasn't very good. Usually their food is ok.  Had a blast lol

I am ok. Must not have been a heart problem. Doc says he thinks it is more an esophagus problem. I have had times before in the past few years when I have had to stop swallowing cause it was stuck. I had to relax so the muscles would relax too. Then I could finish swallowing. Not an easy thing to do, relax when you think you might choke. It made me faint once. I woke up on the floor. But I have had to deal with it for a while and  know what to do. 

Anyway I am ok. :) Got released this morning at around 9 or 10am and had to come back at noon for a stress test.  Had just enough time to check hubby's blood sugar, give him insulin, give him pills, give him lunch, wash and almost dry a load of clothes and take a shower. Then back to the hospital. I got to walk on a treadmill that kept getting faster and steeper. Boy, am I a wimp. I didn't last long. My arms hurt more than anything else, from holding on the the bar so I wouldn't fly backwards of the thing. LOL

Today the weather was great. A little windy, but warm enough to not have to wear a coat. We still have a little snow on the ground in places.

Princess Downy was funny today..first she was excited to see mommy get home. Little tail waggin' 100mph. :) Then tonight just a while ago she kept acting like she wanted to go out and I kept getting up and opening the door. And all she did was stand there at the door barking at the great outdoors. This was getting a little old lol  Crying wolf lol  So the last time she did it I just said nope I'm not going to get up again. :)  She gave up. lol  I will have to take her out one more time later though.

Good Early Tuesday Mornin To Ye

Well, it is 3:40 am.  Our schedule is so upside down. My goodness. lol

Not sure what to write about today. Oh, I got to go to the ER Sunday. That was fun. NOT!  I had pains in my chest on the left side. From the top of my chest to the bottom of it. They just wouldn't go away. I was thinking...well women get different symptoms than men if they are going to get a heart attack.  I couldn't quite remember what they were and I couldn't find the email a friend sent me about it. So I thought I don't want to be a worry wort for nothing..but at the same time I don't want to be dead as a doornail (Yikes!) because I didn't go to the hospital so off we went.

One EKG, one chest x-ray, several blood draws, and one  pain pill later  we were home. All that of course took about 3 hours or so. The doctor said that I have Pleurisy. That is an inflammation of the lining around the lungs and chest wall. It is caused by an infection, an injury or from diseases such as pneumonia, TB or even the flu.

Well, I hadn't had any of those things and I wasn't showing even half the usual symptoms of the condition. I am not quite sure how he came  to that diagnosis. Since he told me this before the x-ray or any of the tests results came back. It took the little ol' pain pill about an hour to kick in and I was good to go.  The  pain has came and went a couple times since then. And today it even hopped over to my right side. Weird. I am supposed to go to a follow up appt with my Dr. but can't get in til a week from now.

I am doing ok and not worried about it anymore. 

Ok, weather report. :)  We got a few inches of snow Sunday and during the night into Monday.  I think the next few days are going to be nice.

This That And The Other

Hi there,

Well, it is 4:23am.  Princess Downy finally came out to go outside for the last time.  If I make her  go out sooner than she is ready then I will have a surprise waiting for me in the morning. So I stay out here at the computer checking emails, chatting, and playing Mah Jong.  Was that more information than you wanted? lol

I have decided to stay up and then just have a little nap later.  I have a mountain of dishes to do, so I am going to try to get it down to a mole hill. That sounded silly. 

Yesterday I tried to upload a video to my post and it didn't work.  It took forever. It was still uploading after 30 mins. Not sure what I did wrong. I did what I was supposed to do.  The video is on my desktop and in Windows Media Player.  Could that be the problem? It is a video I got in an email that I wanted to share with you.  Can anyone help me?

We are starting to get cabin fever here.  Staying in most of the 'winter' has been very boring. lol  I told my hubby that we could do something fun.  Go room by room and clean really good. He just gave me 'the look.' LOL  The 'junk' is making me claustrophobic.  We really do have to do something about it.  Spring Cleaning. :)

My goodness this is a boring post. lol   I gotta do something...

Ok, let me tell you a little experience I had when I was about 7 years old....When I was about 5 or 6 years old we move into a house that had been vacant for a while. And some how became the home for monster spiders. :) And somehow they would always end up in the bedroom my sister and I shared.

We had bunk beds and I got to sleep on the top bunk. There was a ladder on the front of the bed and a railing so that I wouldn't fall out. Mom actually nailed it to the head and foot boards so that it stayed put. I always did a spider check before I went up to bed cause the spiders liked to hang out up in the corner at the head of the bed by the ceiling. Well, one night I climbed the foot of the bed and forgot about the spider check. I got into bed, covered up and looked at the ceiling and there just above my face was the BIGGEST, BLACKEST, SCARIEST LOOKING spider I had ever seen. It was HUGE.  Bigger than my fist. I called out to my sister in the lower bed. She said 'No.'  She knew it was there and wasn't going to 'save me.'  She liked to pick up spiders and pull their legs off. Ewwww

I couldn't believe it. So I just laid there looking at it.  It was like it was staring at me licking its lips. With a knife in one hand or leg and a fork in the other. And a bib or something around its neck.  It was going to eat me.  All of a sudden it MOVED ONE LEG. I was gone, I broke the railing and the ladder. Got slivers up and down my legs.  Mom and my step dad come running in to see what all the noise was about.   I was crying and going on in mom's arms, scared to death. And dad got mad at me for breaking the bed. :( 

Do you think that I ever forgot to do a 'spider check' after that??

Well I guess I should go and get started on the dishes. It is now 5:09 am. Can't believe it has taken me this long to write this post.  I hope it wasn't too terribly boring. :)

Hmm Undecided

Good morning everyone,

I am kinda undecided as to what to write about. Last post still has me drooling and craving chocolate. lol

I have been in a Remember When mode lately too. I mentioned old TV shows a few posts ago then got to thinking of old clothes, and old cartoons. I came up with 10 or so items of clothing  and  20 or more old cartoon shows. :) It was kinda fun thinking of the cartoons. I even Googled most of them to find out what years they aired.

Also I could talk about Princess Downy's  'ice pond' in the front yard.  And how Mamma slipped on it and skinned her arm and made a 5 inch red mark. :( OUCH!

Or maybe we can have a 'Pop Quiz' on the old cartoons. Hmm? Would that be fun?

Howdy all,

We are back from Utah. Since we were going to a couple places in parts of the Salt Lake Valley that we'd never been before, we got lost twice. It was fun though we got to take the scenic route. :) 

And the night that we stayed over with friends Mel's blood sugar went from 401, 461 down to 61. My goodness. So we didn't get much sleep there and crashed for a few hours after getting home. Then I was sick, yayyyy, NOT. But I am better now. :)

Oh my, I am yawning huge yawns, I think I need to go to bed.  But before I go I am handing out homework :) Remember that yesterday's post was about remembering the Toys from the good ol days... Today it is the radio/tv  programs you like or remember... I saw Lassie, Leave It To Beaver, My Favorite Martian, um...Romper Room, heard of Howdy Doody, and the Milton Burle Show.... What else do you remember?

No Problem And Remember??

Hi everyone,

We got to Salt Lake City without any problem.  At home we got just a dusting of snow over night. Not the 4-6 inches we were expecting.  The interstate was mostly clean the entire trip. There was more snow on the ground in the Salt Lake Valley.  We are staying over night cause Mel has an appt tomorrow. Then we will be heading back home.

Thats about all that's happening here.  I'd love to hear from you.  What have you been up to today?  As I mentioned once, I love getting comments first thing in the morning. It's a great way to start off my day. :) Or sometimes I am awake in the early morning hours and check for comments. :)

I have a few ideas for upcoming posts. You won't want to miss them.  LOL Like I am a great author or something. :) I like getting emails that are 'Remember?' Like do you remember Hula Hoops,  Ducan yo-yos, Metal Slinkys, Pogo sticks, Paddle ball, Tinker toys, and Linclon Logs, paint by number pictures, jacks, hop scotch, marbles....

What other toys do you remember? I'd love to hear from you. :)

Good Morning

Good Morning,

For most of you it is already afternoon. :)

I have not been to sleep yet. It is 9:31am here. I was here at the computer at around 4 or 5am after trying to go to sleep around 2 or 3am or so.  I thought why don't I post early. I could write about when we lived in the mountains, or maybe the time when we went to the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Or maybe I could write about a horrible 'spider' experience from my childhood or.....

Well I couldn't make up my mind so I decided to wash the dishes. And google some things and play Mah Jong. I have many things that I need to do today. First, the things that I didn't get  done yesterday. Then the things that were planned for today.  We will be going to Utah tomorrow for Dr appts.  My appt tomorrow and Mel's the next day. I'd like to come home to a clean house after being gone all day or overnight. :)

I am concerned about the snow that is coming.  It is suppose to be windy and we may get about 6 inches of snow. I don't want to be driving in it. I'd rather wait for it to get here and stop and have  a clean plowed interstate to drive on. And I am not crazy about driving in the city, especially if the weather and the road conditions will be a problem..

Anyway, that is what is on my mind this morning.  And the fact that it is Super Tuesday. :)  I am interested to see what happens with the republican presidential race tonight.

Well, now I wonder if this post made sense. lol Was it the weird ramblings of a sleep deprived mind? A poor little insomniac?  lol 

My goodness...lol Well I should go. Maybe I will write some later. And it may possible make more sense than this post. lol

Not much going on here. It is 1:14 am. I am waiting to check Mel's blood sugar again to make sure it is going down. It was very high a while ago.  We need to get it down before I can go to bed. And I am also waiting to take Princess Downy outside. Hopefully I can do both in about 45 minutes. And then go to bed.

I did my house cleaning today, like every Saturday. I don't like to have to have a messy house on Sunday. I like my Sundays to be filled with the Spirit not filled with a sink full of dishes. I am almost finished with reading the chapters in the book of Exodus that I had mentioned in a previous post, yayyyy.  And I want to get started on the book of Acts. It has been a while since I have read the new testament all the way through. I like studying the bible. :)

I just thought of a question for you.  I will think about it too and have an answer for you soon.  What is your favorite part of the bible and why? :) Or what is the neatest thing that you have learned from reading the bible?

Yes, it is 2:29 am.  I told my hubby I'd go to bed at 2:00. Well, when do I ever get to do what I say I will do? lol  I am sitting here waiting for the "Princess" to go out one last time. I know that if she doesn't, there will be a problem before morning, if you know what I mean. :)

I have been reading blogs. My goodness all you talented ladies!  You are busy getting  new spring items made to sell or decorate your homes with. :) I am starting some embroidery on some  pillowcases. The picture is a mamma bear with a baby bear and two pine trees. It's really cute. Maybe I will sell them on my business blog if they turn out ok. :)

I was told about this store in town the other day. I didn't even know it was here and I have lived here for a few years. It is full of fun things for embroidering and all kinds of stitchery.  The lady there even has a huge quilting machine.  I have asked her to hide away a few things for me so that I can buy them later. :)

Howdy!

YAYYY!  It snowed good today. :) We got between 6 and 8 inches, I think.  It only snowed during the late afternoon and evening. More expected tonight into Thursday. Then a break during the day and then more snow in the evening. I hope we get as much tomorrow as we got today.  I feel like I might go out in the yard tomorrow and lay in the snow and make a snow angel. :)
