In Remembrance

Today we remember those at war.  The wars of the past. present, and future.  My son Rob went to Iraq in 2005 at the same time I was having chemotherapy treatments. It was hard for both of us. Thank you Lord for email.  I was able to hear from him every day except when they had communication blackouts. He and his entire unit came back safe. He came back physically safe.  But emotionally he is a mess. :-(  He is soooo angry. It hurts me inside.  I don't know what to do for him.  I just pray hard. One day I will know.

We pray for the safe return of our servicemen and women. We pray for the wounded. And we pray for those who are mourning the death of their loved ones. ( I have tears now for all of us). Thank you to the families whose husbands, fathers, sons, brothers care for this country enough to die to keep it free for all of us. I wish no one had to die.

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

  1. Hi, Janet,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for following my blog. I hope you will enjoy it. I don't have time to blog a lot, but I do like having one.
There are so many backgrounds out there, I have a hard time keeping mine the same for very long! :)
Yes, I am so thankful for all those who have fought for our country and our freedom. I will keep your son in my prayers. I'm sure he went through a lot.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

  2. Hi Janet. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I do hope he is getting some counseling. There are lots of great resources out there to help people work through these things. One of my friends is still struggling with PTSD from Vietnam. You would think it would get easier as time goes on... but it doesn't really.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll keep reading here for a bit..
